Five young men are seeking election for the four state offices open. You can find out more information about each candidate on the Friday of Conclave. During the Opening Session, each individual will give opening remarks and answer hot seat questions. Balloting will be open during breakfast on Saturday morning. Results will be announced during the Saturday Morning Session.
Remember that even though several DeMolays are running for office, everyone is still a brother. Friendly and encouraging attitudes are always encouraged while degrading and negative acts are never permitted. All DeMolays are working towards the same goal; a better and brighter future for DeMolay.
State Master Councilor
Justin T. Cargill qualified to seek election as State Master Councilor. Justin is the charter Master Councilor of Benjamin Franklin Chapter in Grafton where he was awarded the Blue Honor Key for 11 signed members’ petitions. Justin is a Past Master Councilor of John Eliot Chapter in Natick and became a Chevalier for his efforts in growing that chapter. Between these two chapters, Justin has received three Past Master Councilor Meritorious Service Awards. Bro. Cargill is currently the Deputy State Master Councilor and the Region One Cabinet Member for DeMolay International. He was the lead State Officer for this year’s Congress Session. Justin is graduating from Quinsigamond Community College and is transferring to Worcester State University in the fall.
State Master Councilor
MacLean B. Rankin qualified to seek election as State Master Councilor. Mac is a Past Master Councilor of Middleboro Chapter. He has been a solid and part of his chapter since he joined and has helped his chapter grow to the strength it is currently holding. MacLean wasdesignated to receive his Chevalier at this past DeMolay International Session. Bro. Rankin is currently serving as the State Senior Councilor. Mac was the lead State Officer for this year’s Awake-A-Thon and the Holiday Charity Dance last term. He will be attending the Massachusetts School of Barbering in the fall.
Deputy State Master Councilor
William H. M. Blake qualified to seek election as Deputy State Master Councilor. Will is a Past Master Councilor of Cape Cod Chapter in Centerville. As a charter member of Cape Cod, he is an integral part of the leadership in growth and sustainability. Bro. Blake is currently serving as the State Junior Councilor. He has plans to attend Salem State University in the fall.
State Senior Counilor
Steven M. Knott, Jr. qualified to seek election as State Senior Councilor. Steven is a Past Master Councilor Meritorious Service Award recipient from John Eliot Chapter in Natick. Steven has received his Blue Honor Key for the many members he has brought into John Eliot Chapter. He received his Chevalier for the hard work and dedication he poured into John Eliot. Bro. Knott is currently serving as State Marshall for Massachusetts DeMolay. Steven is the lead State Officer for the DeMolay Ball. He has plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the fall.
State Junior Councilor
Alexander W. Dyer qualified to seek election as State Junior Councilor. Alex is a Past Master Councilor of South Coastal Chapter in Marshfield. He was awarded his Chevalier for being the keystone in an effort to have his Chapter be a top recruiter in the state. In 2012, Alex was designated the DeMolay of the Year for his efforts in DeMolay and in the classroom. Bro. Dyer is currently serving as the State Senior Deacon for Massachusetts DeMolay. Alex was the lead State Officer for the Southern District Double Degree this past March, as well as the founder of South Coastal’s Murder Mystery Dinner. He has plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the fall.
