With the completion of “Taking Erabor” Massachusetts DeMolay is rolling straight into our next membership drive, “Alchemy.” With this drive we want to take the excitement that each one of you has, and turn that into membership. Massachusetts DeMolay is asking each of you strap on your alchemist hats and mix up some potions. Each potion is going to be made up of three ingredients, which are outlined below. Each will increase the potency of your chapters potion, and the winning chapter will be the one with the most potent potion.
Ingredient I: +15% Potency
Each chapter will make a short video PSA designed peak the interest of potential members. The video can focus on whatever the members of your chapter would like, a few suggestions include; Sports Events, Charity Work, Conclave, Awake-A-Thon, Brotherhood, Awards, Business Meetings. The video can focus on one topic, or several. Each video should be no more than six minutes long, but no shorter than two minutes long.
Ingredient II: +5-15% Potency
Chapters are broken down into teams or "Sects" as they're called, the sect break down can be found below. These sects are important because performing degrees with your sect will add potency to you potion. However there is one crucial detail, your chapters percentage boost will depend on the number of chapters represented at the degree. If you have two chapters you get 5%, if you have three chapters you get 10%, and if you have all chapters represented you get a 15% boost!
Ingredient III: Percentage will vary!
The final piece of your chapters potions is the members that you bring in. The percentage by which your potions strength increases depends on a simple equation. Each chapter required 16 members to start, so at the end of the six month period, take the number of members your chapter brought in (X), divide it by 16, then multiply it by 100. (X/16)100, that is the percentage that your chapters potency will increase by.
With all of this put together you’ll reach your final percentage by adding all three of these things together. Now the real question is, what can you win from this membership drive? Well, The three chapters with the highest percentages will win. Whatever their percentages are, Massachusetts DeMolay will pay for that percentage of something that chapter needs. Whether it be new candles, or a new game system.
