“Dad” James A. Moller, 88, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Dad Moller is a Senior DeMolay from Newton Chapter. After his time as an active brother, he dedicated his adulthood to DeMolay by serving as an advisor and as Executive Director between 1966-80 and helped mold countless young men during his time. He was awarded his Legion of Honor and Honorary ISC Member.
In addition to his accomplishments in DeMolay, Dad Moller was also extremely active in Freemasonry. He joined the craft in 1964 in Amity Lodge (now Amity-Mosaic Lodge) and served as Worshipful Master of The DeMolay Lodge in 1978-79. Dad Moller served the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts as a District Deputy Grand Master in 1996-1998. Among his many accolades were the Veterans Medal and the Joseph Warren Medal.
Arrangements are by Peterson O’Donnell Funeral Home at 167 Maple Street, Danvers, MA. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, 31, 2018 between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will be performed at 7:00 p.m.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2018, at the Maple Street Congregational Church at 90 Maple Street, Danvers, MA. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Scottish Rite Library and Museum at P.O. Box 519, Lexington, MA.
